What Happens to Your Pet Photo After You Upload It
A plain-language walk through PetMona’s privacy policy: where your pet photo is stored, which services touch it, what we never do with it and how to get it deleted.
When you upload a pet photo to PetMona, it is stored in object storage (Vercel Blob) and sent to a third-party AI image service only to paint your portrait. Neither PetMona nor that service uses it to train models, and PetMona does not sell it. Analytics and ad tags never receive the photo. There is no automatic timed deletion yet: email contact@petmona.app and uploads and results are deleted on request, usually within a few business days.
Uploading a photo of your pet to a website you found five minutes ago is a fair thing to hesitate over. This page walks through what happens to that photo on PetMona, step by step, in plain language. Everything here comes from our Privacy Policy (last updated October 21, 2026); if the two ever differ, the policy is what counts.
The short version
- Your photo is stored so you can finish checkout and download your portrait
- It is sent to one third-party AI image service, only to paint your portrait
- It is never used to train AI models and never sold
- Analytics and advertising tags never receive it
- You can have it deleted at any time by email
There is no account
PetMona has no sign-up and no password. Your email address is the identifier for your previews, purchases and download links. That is also how you get back to your portraits later: the Orders page sends a signed link to your email that lists the portraits made with that address.
Where the photo is stored
Uploaded photos and the portraits made from them are kept in object storage (Vercel Blob). The status of each portrait and your unlock balance live in a separate key-value store. They are kept so that you can come back, finish checkout and download your file, rather than losing everything when you close the tab.
Who else handles it
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| AI image service | Your uploaded photo | To paint that one portrait; it receives no email, name or order details and does not train on the photo |
| Vercel | Stored photos and portraits | Storage and hosting |
| Stripe (Lemon Squeezy as backup) | Payment details | To take payment; PetMona never stores full card numbers |
| U.S. print partner | The finished artwork and your shipping address | Only for print orders; never your original photo |

What analytics never sees
The Google tag and Meta Pixel stay off until you choose “Accept analytics”. Even then, they never receive your uploaded photo, the generated image’s address, the file name or your portrait request ID. With consent, Meta receives a hashed (not plain-text) version of your email for ad matching. Separately, if you arrive from a Google ad, the ad click identifier is kept to report purchases to Google Ads; this is on by default in the US and Canada and elsewhere used only with your consent.
The device check behind three free previews
Free previews are limited to three in total per email and device. To enforce that, PetMona keeps a first-party device identifier and a hashed browser fingerprint. They are used only for the preview limit and to stop free-trial abuse, not for advertising, cross-site tracking or identifying you by name.
When something becomes public
Only if you choose it. After an order you can leave a review, and it is shown publicly only if you tick the box to publish it. A public review shows a masked version of your email and the watermarked preview of that order — never the original photo or your full address. The free preview itself is always watermarked.
Deleting your photos
Automatic timed deletion is not switched on yet, and there is no self-serve delete button. Email contact@petmona.app from the address you used and we will delete your uploads and generated portraits, usually within a few business days. Files tied to a purchase may be kept longer when they are needed for support or a refund.
Picking a photo you are comfortable sharing
The portrait only needs your pet. A close, well-lit shot of their face works better than a wide one anyway, and it keeps people, house numbers and other personal details out of the frame before the photo ever leaves your phone.
PetMona turns a clear pet photo into wall-ready art — ship an 8×10″ print or unlock HD to gift yourself. Free preview, no subscription.
Frequently asked questions
Does PetMona use my pet photos to train AI?
No. PetMona does not use uploaded photos to train AI models, and the AI image service that paints the portrait does not train on them either. PetMona also does not sell your images.
How do I get my photos deleted?
Email contact@petmona.app from the address you used. PetMona deletes your uploads and generated portraits on request, usually within a few business days. Files tied to a purchase may be kept longer when they are needed for support or a refund.
Can other people see my pet’s portrait?
Not unless you share it. Portraits are tied to your private job link and your email. A portrait only appears publicly if you leave a review and tick the box to make it public, and then only the watermarked preview and a masked email are shown.
