Custom Pet Tarot Cards: Turn Your Dog or Cat into a 22-Card Deck

One photo in, a full 22-card Major Arcana deck out — with your pet as the hero of every card and a card back that carries their name.

PetMona’s pet tarot deck (petmona.app/tarot) turns one photo of your dog, cat or other pet into all 22 Major Arcana cards, The Fool to The World, painted in one Art Nouveau style, plus a card back showing the pet’s name. Card 0 is a free watermarked preview; the full deck is a one-time $14.99 with no account and no subscription.

A custom tarot deck of your pet sounds like something that needs a commissioned illustrator and a few hundred dollars. It does not have to. PetMona paints the whole Major Arcana — all 22 cards, from The Fool to The World — with your own dog, cat or small pet as the hero of each one, from a single uploaded photo.

What you actually get

  • 22 Major Arcana cards in one consistent Art Nouveau style, so they look like a real deck rather than 22 unrelated images
  • A card back that carries your pet’s name
  • HD PNG files plus a ZIP download, usually ready within 5–10 minutes of unlocking
  • Three free redraws if a single card misses the likeness
  • A private deck page where you type a question and let your pet “draw” a card — each card shows its keywords, traditional symbolism and a reflective prompt

How the free card works

You do not pay to find out whether it looks like your pet. Upload a photo, add the name and the first card — 0, The Fool — is painted as a free watermarked preview. If the face, coat and markings are right, you can unlock the other 21; if not, you have spent nothing.

Is it a prediction? No

The deck is for fun and reflection, not fortune-telling. The meanings are the traditional tarot ones, written as prompts you can think about — they do not predict anything and are not advice. The question you type on the deck page never leaves your browser.

Which photo works best

Use a sharp, well-lit photo where the face fills a good part of the frame and both eyes are visible. A natural-light shot at eye level beats a filtered or heavily cropped one, and because the whole deck is built from that one image, it is worth choosing the best photo you have.

How the 22 cards read

The Major Arcana are the big-theme cards of tarot, running from The Fool (0) to The World (21). In your deck, your pet is the hero of each one, painted in one Art Nouveau style. Every card comes with its keywords, its traditional symbolism and a reflective prompt, so the cards are meant to be read as well as looked at.

A few cards, translated for pets

  • The Fool: a first step into the unknown, like the first day in a new home.
  • The Empress: nurture, comfort and warmth, the card of the pet who looks after everyone.
  • The Hermit: quiet watching and time alone, the pet who sits at the window.
  • Strength: gentle courage, patience and trust.
  • The Star: hope and renewal after a hard stretch.
  • The World: completion and belonging, the card for a pet who is simply home.

Ways to use the deck

  • Ask a question each morning and let your pet draw the card of the day.
  • Make it a family game, with everyone asking a question and passing the deck round.
  • Give it to a friend who loves tarot and loves their dog.
  • Mark a pet’s birthday or adoption anniversary with a keepsake deck.

A photo that gives the painter more to hold on to

Because the whole deck is built from one picture, spend a minute on it. A sharp, well-lit photo with both eyes visible is the foundation. Distinctive markings, a white blaze, odd ears or a particular colour of eyes give the painter more to hold on to across 22 different scenes. Avoid heavy filters, sunglasses on the pet and busy backgrounds.

What happens after you pay

After the one-time $14.99 payment, PetMona paints the other 21 cards in batches. The deck page shows progress card by card and you can close the tab: an email follows when the deck is complete, with the link and a ZIP download. Cards arrive as HD PNGs, usually within 5–10 minutes, and you have three free redraws if one misses the likeness. The card back carries your pet’s name.

A gift for the person who has everything

A tarot deck of someone’s own pet is a gift nobody else can buy them. You can start the free card without paying, check the likeness and then decide whether to unlock the rest. Because the first card is free and watermarked, you only pay once you are sure the face is right.

Questions worth asking your pet

  • “What should I pay attention to today?”
  • “Is there something I have been putting off?”
  • “What would make this week feel lighter?”
  • “What does our home need more of right now?”

The cards give you a prompt, not an answer. Reading the keywords and the reflective question slowly is the point, and the pet in the picture simply makes the habit more fun.

How to make custom tarot cards of your pet

  1. Pick one clear photo. Choose a sharp, well-lit photo with the face visible and both eyes showing. The whole deck is built from this single image.
  2. Open the pet tarot page. Go to petmona.app/tarot, upload the photo and type your pet’s name. The name appears on the card back.
  3. Check the free first card. Wait about a minute for card 0, The Fool, to be painted as a watermarked preview, and check that the face and markings look right.
  4. Unlock the full deck. Pay the one-time $14.99 to generate the remaining 21 cards. They usually arrive in 5–10 minutes as HD PNGs and a ZIP.
  5. Ask your pet a question. Open your private deck page, type a question and let your pet draw a card. Read its keywords, symbolism and reflective prompt.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a tarot deck made from a photo of my pet?

Yes. At petmona.app/tarot you upload one photo and PetMona paints all 22 Major Arcana cards with your pet as the hero. The first card (The Fool) is a free watermarked preview, and the full deck is a one-time $14.99.

How long does a custom pet tarot deck take?

The free first card takes about a minute. After you unlock the full deck, the cards usually arrive within 5–10 minutes as HD PNG files and a ZIP, and the deck page stays available so you can come back and draw cards.

Are the tarot readings real predictions?

No. The deck is entertainment and a prompt for reflection, using the traditional symbolism of each card. It does not predict the future or give advice, and the question you type never leaves your browser.
