Homed, Free, Lost: Status Notes on Creature Cards

Every card carries a care status. Homed is the default; Free signals adoption; Lost asks viewers to keep an eye out.

Creature Cards are more than art stats. Each one can show Homed, Free, or Lost — a short public signal about the pet’s situation, plus an optional note (up to 72 characters) that prints small on the card face.

What each status means

  • Homed — default. The pet already has a person; the note can be a sweet detail (window naps, favorite toys).
  • Free — adoption signal. You’re looking for a forever home; keep the note practical and kind.
  • Lost — missing pet. Ask people who see the card to watch for them; include last-seen clues when you can.

Who can change it

The original browser, or anyone holding the card’s private management link, can edit its status, note, display name, or location alias later. The private link should be stored carefully because it grants management access and there is no email recovery. Showcase sample cards are read-only.
